Welp, since I've been so busy with my film for Friday's upcoming film fest (ahem http://www.midsummernighttoons.com) I haven't really had an opportunity to post a lot that had to do with it beyond the one measly post I made months ago. This is a character for a pitch idea I have that I'll be working on over the summer. I don't know if this will be the final design, but probably not. I like it and all but I don't think it suits the character.

Also, for all those who are coming to the Dusty's tomorrow to check out my film, it has been brought to my attention that on the printed schedules that it is on at 9:05 instead of 9:41. I don't know what happened for the schedule change but it has really pissed me off that they didn't tell the animation kids about it. I heard this from a film student. I don't see the point in giving a schedule if when you update it you don't tell anyone. AAAAnnnyway.....

I dont know how I threw this together in 24 hours, didn't think I was gonna make it, but here goes...

I'm having a gallery show! "What?" you say, "where did that come from?" And to that I say I have no idea. My friend Lisa called me and asked me to do it and I said yes. I pulled some prints out of my ass and threw together some stuff for this show. It's nothing spectacular on my part but I tried my hardest to throw some stuff together amid finals and thesis due dates.

Aaaanyway, you should come! Even if you really don't care for art come for free wine and cheese. There's going to be a dj and some partying going on after the gallery show so that should be fun.

And yes, I know my name is spelled wrong along with other things on this flyer. I dont have the most recent one that was revised so this'll just have to do!

These two are about me as a kid. I was a pretty dumb kid. I wonder if my mom remembers these? Both times ended with me going to the hospital to see my good ol' dad and have my finger soaked in iodine for a half hour and then put in a finger splint. When I burned my finger I got away without having to do any school work for a week since it was my right hand finger. The other one was my left finger and it was just cool to show off to kids in class. The second time I probably should have had stitches but I probably would have screamed bloody murder for my father not to do it.

My mom and I have been exploiting the best of both our talents and making crazy cakes. You could say we want to be the mother/daughter duo of Ace of Cakes. Anyway, yesterday we put together this Betty Boop Cake for her friend's 50th birthday. It's a dark chocolate layer cake with chocolate ganache icing. I made the Betty out of marzipan. She looked great but fell apart a little bit during her transport.

A few months back we made this 50's malt shop for another friend's 50th birthday. That one came out great. The countertop is vanilla cake with buttercream icing and fondant on top of it. The barstools are fondant and the floor is checker boarded dark and white chocolate. I made the 50's girl out of fondant, as well as the milkshakes lined up on the bar. The Jukebox is a fondant-covered rice krispies treat.

Whew! I've been busy these past couple of days! At least in the ways of doodling, anyway.

I just did this one this morning during a lull at work. I doodled it on a piece of paper during my monday night class and rather liked the way it came out, so I recreated it. I think it came out better on my paper doodle.

This one I did for my monday night teacher, Dave Levy. He works on Assy Mcgee and I started out drawing a chick but really only liked the butt and legs part, so I just cut out the rest. I call her "Rosy Cheeks".
Then this last one I did for Art Jumble for this week's theme. It's my two favorite boys in the world, Dougie and Butters! They're still just babies and they're so handsome.

It's coming up on that time...!
Yeah all my rough animation for my thesis is due next friday. And I just keep throwing more and more scenes in! I lay in bed at night and think to myself "wouldn't it be great if I added this scene or if I did this joke?" And next thing you know I've got 28 scenes and 19 backgrounds. Thank god for repeat backgrounds. These babies take forever! Plus, Flash just can't handle the huge JPG sizes. Flash just wasn't meant for JPGs. I wouldn't have my backgrounds look any other way, though!

This is the most recent background I finished... Today! Yeah I just did it. It's the title screen, too! So consider this like, a sneak peek at the beginning of the film. I think it's up to about 3 1/2 minutes now. I don't want to go much longer than that.

Holy CRAP I've been busy. This whole working full time school full time and thesis project full time thing is really killing me. But I'm having a blast being back at work and I'm way excited to see my final thesis project when it's done. Anyway, where was I... Oh yeah, doodles! I have doodles. There's a few from me just dicking around and a few that are layouts for my thesis. Lots of stuff to do! Lots of animating to do by Feb. 14th. Only two more weeks...! wtf am I doing? I'm gonna end up dead by April, I swear. I mean, seriously.

to any and all animators looking to make a quick buck --

a family friend is trying to pitch a cartoon series to networks, but before he pitches it, he wants to create an animatic to go along with the book, etc.

There is only about a minute of animation. He had hired someone prior to talking to me, but was deeply disappointed when deadlines were not met. At the end of it all, he received a partly finished animatic, with several usable backgrounds and character designs, but no finished animation.

He had asked me to do it, but recently i have taken a full time position and i am working on my thesis at the same time. As much as i would love to have a hand in creating a great television series, I just can't at this point in time.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in taking on the project, please contact me immediately! I need help! The job is a paying freelance gig.
